Bionic Commando Guest Characters
Hey guys,
I've been catching up with the podcasts until now. I've realized I forgot some stuff to ask and I could have had a great conversation about (my passion for) 2D games with mr. Ben Judd.
Anyways... here's my question/comment:
So, I always liked the idea of having guest characters appear in different games.
You might have probably noticed that Zero, from MegaMan Zero 2, had a "Swing Mechanic" with his "Chain Rod" weapon that was pretty similar to Bionic Commando. What do you think about having Zero in BC and what would the issues, pros and cons about it?
Also, considering a possible future "Capcom vs ____" game (perhaps Maverl vs Capcom 3), what is your call for a BC main character to be in it?
Thanks.

Long time lissener, first time call- I mean E-mailer
hey guys, my name is Ramses and your podcast rocks! If it went for your podcast, I would of died of hypothermia waiting in line for my MGS4 bundled PS3 on thursday.
I was wondering about the recent online videos that where recently release showing online play for both Rearmed and the upcoming 3D game (is there a name to that one or whats up?) and I was wondering how will it be structured? will it have some variety and degrees of customization like Halo and (not to shill someone else's game) MGO? or will it be your typical deathmatch game where you kill GUY B who looks like GUY A but instead of wearing red, he's blue.
anyways, can't wait for Rearmed and the upcoming 3D BC game (Yes, im one of the few, Mr. Judd). Keep up the best regards
Ramses (Chula vista, USA)

Area 19
Will area 19 be less useless in Bionic Commando: Rearmed than it was in the original game? Given the general overhaul that the game has received, it seems only fair that something other than the crazy knife soldier who attacks you (and doesn't get pelted by the guys in white) and the suicide bomber could be in the area...

(no offense to the five peckers)

Peckers ftw!
Each of the peckers beat Gearoid in a beard-growing competition to win trips to Las Vegas and be harassed by Ben.

"win trips to Las Vegas and be harassed by Ben."
Surely that's the booby prize?!

Japanese Developers playing western games?
I noticed that recently many Japanese developers have been playing and getting inspired by western games. For example Kojima and Call of Duty 4, and Keiji Inafune with Halo 3. Is this trend more recent or are they (the developers) just “coming out of the closet”? I never thought that a lot of Japanese developers would be such fans of western games (which is awesome).
Oh and Rammykun you wouldn’t be killing Guy A if he is red he would be killing you, haven’t you been paying attention to the news lately? ;)

I really liked swinging around in BC (nes), and if the challange stages are as hard as you say they are, it would be nice to have a challange editor, im not asking to implant *w/e* it into BCR now, but just an idea for the future thank you for haveing this on your pod cast..or not...still thank you

@ dvincent747
We've made sure that all the neutral zones (now called FSA camps) are worth visiting for one reason or another. Except for FSA soldiers to chat with there are Challenge Rooms in all of them, and also some form of permanent upgrade or secret to unlock.

memories...
Oh man... great memories have been revived while I was listening to this podcast. And now, after listening to all podcasts, I realize I could have said much more interesting things... or just speak more, in general.
So, I still haven't heard Ben's "solid perhaps" about my question in the first post. I then assume it'll be in the next podcast, right? Right? ;D
Anyways, I won't be mad with a "definite maybe".
Thanks

A pleasure to have you on Yuri! We'll try to remember to put your question to Ben (and get a real answer from him) on the next show.

More good stuff
I love your podcasts. The content is great as are the guests (pricks). However I think the snowball failed. I spent a lot of time rewinding to hear comments. Have your guests scoot up to the mic, and give Gearoid his own mic he can take into crapper with him.

I agree, I just don't like the sound quality of the snowball. Real thumbs down from me. But I'll still listen to the podcast even with it.

@Gearoid Reidy
It's a pleasure being here...
*waits for Ben to say: "Yes. Yes it is."*
Anyways, I'm pretty excited about both BC games... expect more comments from me.
@SchwannyT and dvincent747
The snowball is only being used when they do the podcasts out of their office in Osaka...

@Yuri
Yuri, how are things?
Thanks for coming over to the site and commenting! Very nice of you, sir. Monster Hunter fever over here is nuts! I would say about 20 percent of the company play it after work...
Hey, if you get a chance can you comment on the BC boards on Capcom-unity that we are unable to access the boards from Japan due to an age-gate programming error. I'm not ignoring the guys over there. Until they fix the bug we are stuck using this site only...

@Ben
Everything's alright! (I'm on vacation right now xD )
So, have you joined that 20 percent of Capcom MH players (and become a real man) yet?
Yes, I'll be posting on the Capcom-Unity about your absence: "Ben got his internet cut off due to large amounts of bandwith being wasted on downloading porK". =P
Seriously now, I've had the same problem with the age-gate thing. I still have, actually, but it doesn't happen when I log on before going to the Bionic Commando section.
Anyways, I'll let them know until you come back.
Take care.
Yuri
