Apologies for the delay in getting this update to you - there were technical problems in the field. But the good news is...
NES Soundtrack released for sale
The big news this week is that we’ve got some more BC music for you to blow your cash on – we’ve only gone and put a crystal-clear high-quality version of the original NES Bionic Commando Soundtrack for sale!
Because you asked for it, and we like money, you can buy it right here at Sumthing Digital for the low, low price of just $2.99.
Whatever about the BCR soundtrack, we certainly don’t expect to be making millions on this one, but there’s nothing wrong with a little fan service now and again! Unfortunately, it is not available on iTunes - we ourselves would have loved to release it on iTunes, but unfortunately their pricing scheme isn’t the best fit for this kind of album. We know we’ve got some crazy Bionic Commando fans here, but not crazy enough to spend 99 cents on a single 8-bit song! Er, right?
Plus – NES soundtrack cover
And since you have parted with your hard-earned dollars, we’d like to give you a little freebie – just like with the BCR soundtrack, we’ve prepared a CD cover and liner notes ready to be printed! If we do say so ourselves, if you’re a fan of pixilated 8-bit art you will love these. The liner notes are written by Ben Judd and the creators of some of the biggest Bionic Commando fansites – the guys who were singing Bionic Commando’s praises long before these new games were a twinkle in Capcom’s eye!
Click here to download the cover and liner notes directly!
The whole package is also available on the Fan Site Kit page.
Random Thing of the Week
While scouring the Internets for, erm, things, we completely randomly came across this fan-made 3D model of Spencer by 3D artist Teck Lee Tan. It’s still a work in progress, but we like bobble-headed super-deformed Spencer! You’ve just given us an idea for Super Puzzle Commando…
We wish we could put more pictures up here for you (grumble grumble), but this is one worth clicking on the link to see. Nice work Teck!
That's it for this week. Now we are off to rock out, 80’s style.

Just got the 8-bit tracks...
Moved the MP3s to my PSP right away, and wow. Best 2.99 I ever spent, along side my Bionic Commando NES cart, which just happens to be sitting on my desk right now. Feels great to hear that music again, long after my NES died due to attrition. Now to wait for July 7th for that... dare I say Totally Rad?... Chris Kline track, and I'll be one overfed otaku for sure.Pondering 8-bit existence.
Was a little more complicated to download from "Sumthing Digital" than I would've liked (no thanks to Vista) but hey I still got it.Y'know listening to this 8-bit music, always brings to mind that the Pal versions of all NES games ran a bit slower than the US/JPN versions. This is the most noticable when you listen to for example Megaman songs on the net, then procceed to play the games. Only to notice that slight dip in tempo that makes the song a little less enjoyable. Oh well, nice soundtrack.
@WithoutUnderpants
Not just that but the speed hit was pretty noticable. We had a contest at GRIN where we all played the PAL version of the original game and although it probably comes off as an excuse, having that slow down throws off your rhythm.Sorry for the inconvenience with purchasing the NES version of the soundtrack. Again, since iTunes doesn't offer flexible pricing, you have to use other avenues to provide a service like this.

Also, here's a fact that may be interesting only to me. It's not unprecedented to have the 8-bit stuff up on iTunes. Square has their 8-bit NES soundtracks available there. But get this - they have all the tracks up for $.99 a piece, but the whole albums are only $5.99. That's for FF1/2 NES. FF3NES is $7.99. It's highway robbery when you think about it. So it's great that we have alternatives like SumthingDigital or Amazon's MP3 store. But when I look at all of this digital distribution, I can't help but remember the Bad Old Days when we had to import VG soundtracks. The three disc set for FF6's soundtrack was expensive. Now you can get it digitally for $15. The internet is truly a wonderful thing.
My NES copy of bionic commando
My copy of Bionic Commando for the NES runs like crap it takes me like 20 minutes just to get it to work.I even vamped up my NES with a replacement 72 pin connector which I replaced myself, and the strange thing was I had like 3 screws left over after I was done with the job.
Anyways all my other NES games run perfect except Bionic Commando, and usually the problem is with the music it like has this high pitched squeal that happens all of the time. I've found clipping the game to a game genie helps solve the problem (I don't use codes for the record).
Either-way I'm actually pretty glad you put out the original 8-bit titles, I haven't bought the soundtrack yet but I probably will... Still it makes me sad that my cartridge is dying on me, guess I just played it too much.
I can beat the entire game without dying once... (Of course I might hit start+A+B a couple of times if I don't land something right Muyahahahahahahah).
@ Hyakitaki
Does your NES blink? If so you might have the same problem a lot of NES owners have be, this problem is that the region lockout chip has gone funny if you remove a certain part of the chip (very easy) the blinking disappears. This happened to me and after disabling the chip and getting a new 72 pin I got to enjoy some 8-bit greatness (More then just Bionic Commando). Anyways here is a link to the guide I used http://www.spoocher.com/?q=node/7
Still hoping for a BC:R release before the 7th :)
Just when I thought I was safe...
... the find ANOTHER way to suck money out of me...GOD... what'll happen when the game finally comes out?

I see what you did!!! From the bottom of my heart, I thank you!!!@dvincent747@gmail.com
Believe it or not, I bought it BEFORE I knew that song was included... just to show my support for these guys. See above posts...Seriously though I can't wait for this game....
Bionic Commando Re-armed is going to be bigger than the national coin shortage of '78. Eat your heart out Space Invader fans. Thanks for giving me new excuses to throw money at you. :)
