Spencer is an Iron Man... of Gaming!Vote Now!

BC Fans,

In keeping with our trend of trying to give the fans what they want we have enlisted the services of Chris Kline (aka The Vertex Guy) to create a pure "ROCK" version of the main BC theme.

If you check the poll that we've had running over the past 2 weeks, it would appear that more people want to hear the classic BC tunes remixed into Rock style songs. You asked for it, so here it is!

Kline will be rocking out his latest masterpiece at the Iron Man of Gaming event at the Grapevine Convention Center near Dallas, Texas, so if you're in the area this weekend, drop by to get your first glimpse of "The Bionic Jam". And if for some reason you are not in Dallas this weekend, it'll be available to listen to very shortly!

Kline has also created some pretty fantastic old school mixes and I first started listening to him when I heard his Contra mix. This is just one of the other special events we have planned for you BC fans so keep coming back to the site for more updates on Kline as well as some other musical experiments we will be trying.

Rock On!

Ben

Sweet!

Awesome news! I'm totally looking forward to more 8-bit music remixes into any genre. I'm assuming that we'll b over to buy this through iTunes as well Ben?

Vertexguy is very cool. Housethegrate is also very cool and should get a shot at some BC music too. In fact, a BC album of my favorite artists would be extremely awesome (Vertexguy, housethegrate, CarboHydroM, Master Hatchet, the list goes on). Maybe we should convince the Dwelling of Duels guys to do a Bionic Commando month...

@joni.kotro

Yep, that's "Going Commando" by Gux. I love that fan remix. It's probably favorite. So much that I even contacted Gux and asked if he wanted to help on the project. That was a long time ago so things just kind of cooled off... but damn that is a nice version.

Best Area 02

My favorite BC remix isn't it's own separate track, but part of Quickshot's Hasbeen Lo-Fi medley. It's area 02 and it's just rockin hard. It was a "bonus" track for May 2006's DoD.

http://dod.redheadedblacksheep.net/past/may06/QUICKSHOT-Medley-Hasbeen-DoD.mp3 <-- about 4:08 in. Audio quality isn't great, but the playing is rocking and the arrangement is excellent. Multiple guitars layered on top of each other to give that kind of ambience that Area 2 demands.

Music and Action figures

I can't wait to hear the The Bionic Jam. I was quite suprised that it was done so fast, I remember anwsering the poll not to long ago or it might be my memory failing me. Also how many petitions would it take to get a "hill-billy" version?

On another note, whats with the totally "RAD" (that pun is extremly overdone but I can't help myself) action figure? Any chance we will get a "classic" Spencer?

@KOMOTO

Isn't there going to be an orchestrated Bionic Commando theme in the current generation version? I think Ben mentioned it somewhere.

Platformers and rock

Frankly I voted for rock before I really listened to the electronic versions. I voted like this because the 2-D side scroller is pretty much dead.... and that is something that definately makes me sad.

Ok to the point though the last 2-D side scroller I played was Contra: Shattered Soldier for the PS2. I love that game, and I apologize because it's Konami, but still it had a rock soundtrack that basically made me fall in love with rock and 2-D.

Difficult games...

Silverfox64/Hyakitaki,

If you thought Shattered Soldier was tough, you are gonna crap yourselves when you see the final challenge rooms in BCR. I've seen a video of them getting beaten and even I have to say as a pro-swinger of the original game, I highly doubt that I could beat it.

Really tough stuff. It will break a weaker BC player...
