So come Monday we will be heading off to the beautiful land of Sweden to get a little face-to-face time in with the staff at GRIN. So, if you guys have any comments or questions that you would like us to toss GRIN's please post them here or forever hold your peace.
I know we've mentioned this before but the trip to Sweden from Japan is rough! A 12 hour flight to Frankfurt. The flight from Frankfurt to Stockholm doesn't leave until 3 hours later and the flight itself is about 2 hours so all in all it's a 17 hour trip! (Well, 20 if you include the trip to and from the airport)
We are getting ready for a major press push in the near future for the 3D version of Bionic Commando. Let's just say this, the art keeps getting better and better. It will be interesting to see the reactions!
That's all for today but if you have some spare time, read over the Bionic Commando comic... it's going to start getting juicy and reveal a pretty interesting plot twist in the Bionic Commando world.

okay...
here's a question: when is the rearmed release date?!Same Here...
When are you releasing Rearmed?!?!?!Remote Play?
Also, is it still in the works to use the PSP's remote play to play Rearmed on the go?2 Questions
I have two questions. The first one is again the query of when will Rearmed be releasing? Sorry to mention it once again, as the question has been posted many times already, but I think fans would like to know a definitive date as we can't wait to get our hand on the title (BCR is definitely greatly anticipated on the Digital Download front). Furthermore IGN had the release date set at May 15th just some time ago, but now has the release date set for May 22nd. I just wanna to see how much truth are in these dates or are they just filler dates as we are so used to seeing.Second question, is the status of Bionic Commando (3D Sequel). I read the preview in June's issue of EGM and it stated that Bionic Commando is now slated for release in 2009 as opposed to 2008 as we heard, has something changed that caused the targeted release date to be change or is BC still on a road towards a 2008 release?
Thanks for your time :)
@ Tom
Well Remote Play has been confirmed in numerous interviews, so hopefully that hasn't change (I doubt it has) because it's definitely something that can drive PSN sales of BCR, as the PS3 audience is at a smaller capacity of that of XBLA and PC. Plus being the fact that BCR started out as a PSP title that was moved to digital distribution (All the while still being able to target the PSP audience) I don't see it being knocked out of developement, but I guess we'll see once there is official word :P:).The 2 Rs -- Release date and Remote play!
Guys,We go into more specifics about the release date on the most recent podcast (coming your way on Tuesday if Gearoid gets it finished! Yaaa! Work you dirty Irishman!)
Concerning remote play... we almost were unable to get it in due to a pretty strict policy that Sony has for its usage. Let's just say I can see why there aren't a lot of games that support it! Matter of fact I think we are the first 3rd party to support it in a game and it was all thanks to GRIN's fantastic programmers!
So to make a long answer slightly less lenghty... YES. Remote play is supported and boy does BCR look pur-ty on the LCD PSP screen.
Cant wait 4 new podcast!
Quick dumb question....what is remote play and how does it work? I have both a PS3 and PSP. Only used the PS3 once and had it since launch. Only used my PSP for God of War.I am definitely purchasing Rearmed for the Xbox-live arcade. I would just like to know....is remote play where u download a game from the Playstation Store and then download it to your PSP?? If so, I'll be buying Rearmed for the 360 and PS3! Thnx 4 any answers.
Lastly, to Ben and company....Have safe travels and a great time on your trip across the world.
Remote Play RULZ
Remote play lets you download the game to your PS3 and then send the video to the PSP. So the PSP is the controller and TV, and PS3 does all the work... VERY COOL. You can also watch Movies, play music, use the PS3 web browser and PSN store. If your cool and for $0 I can turn on my PS3 from anywhere, stream movies from my computer to my PSP from anywhere in the world (that I have an internet connection).
Very cool that you included it in this game.
Shoot.. Second thought
I should have put this in the last comment, but GO TO A WEEKLY PODCAST! I love it.Thanks Ben
Thanks for the comment, I look forward to next week's podcast.@Silverfox64
Its like SchwannyT stated, you virtually can play BCR anywhere from the world with remote play. It works by you first linking up your PSP to your PS3, then you have the game which is playable on the PS3, however should you have to leave and want to play it away from home, you could use your PSP to connect to a WiFi hotspot then access your PS3. From there you can access all your Music and Videos, and game that support Remote Play, which in this case would be BCR. So you'll be able to play it anywhere as long as you have a PSP and WiFi connection to connect to. It is also to be noted that you can use this with Hard Copies of PS1 titles, so you could start up a MGS1 or FF7 from outside your Home, pretty nifty IMO, exactly why I'll be purchasing the PSN version.
I'm wondering how the devolopers at GRIN are working (worked?) on two different projects at the same time. Was the team split in two or did they alternate? If so, did anyone who had a sweet idea for the 3d game that came to them because they were working BC:R that was incorperated into the game. (or vice-versa).
Thanks alot, can't wait till Tuesday.
Bots in multiplayer
Are you going to be able to play against bots in the multiplayer?More than words?
@DarkJediNovaI can certainly understand wanting to more about the release date but there are some things that just aren't conveyed well though a simple blog post. I can assure you something like a release date affects the entire company and therefore we aren't ones to treat it lightly.
Personally, the one thing I like most about the podcast is that it's much easier to be supportive of a team/group if they have a proper voice. What you get on the podcast is our honest personalities. We aren't feeding you a line of BS or anything. If we don't like something we usually tell you about it and we don't try to shove anything about the game down your throat. It's just 4 guys talking.
So, we wanted to use that voice and give it to you in our own words. Additionally, since I believe in the podcast as an effective way of connecting with BC fans on a more personal level, we want it to reach a larger audience and to actually mean something. That means, we will be releasing some key information on the podcast that we won't be releasing elsewhere.
So, please be patient and know that we aren't trying to tease but instead want to connect with you guys in the best way possible.
And ShwannyT, don't let Gearoid hear you talking about a weekly podcast... we don't want to send him back to the bottle!
Cheers,
Ben
Thank you
Thank you for responding to my post. Like I said in my previous post, I wasn't trying to sound pushy, I am just really excited about bionic commando rearmed and just really want to know the release date, so I will have to wait for the next podcast. Keep up the good work guys, bionic commando rearmed looks fantastic. The wait 4 this game is......
KILLING ME!!Just curious
How do the women look? There are Women?
Hey man I was 10 when the original was out....It's Tuesday
Hi Ben, it's Tuesday and I don't see the podcast, so let us have it! When is Rearmed coming out? Please don't let this become another SF2 HD Remix! The women are HAWT!!!
And the podcast is up. Don't worry Tom... it is literally very "close". I promise you the wait won't be long! One more comment
@Ben JuddOk, I'll stop my belly aching for this game but I gotta let you know. This is my favorite game of ALL TIME. Thank you for bringing it back! It looks amazing!
Another Question
I have another question. It applies to both version of Bionic Commando. That question is will they support Rumble Technology, in both the PS3's Dualshock Controller and/or the 360's Controllers?Rumble
Both games support rumble on all platforms. We are really pushing the technology envelope here!Ben
AAaaawwwww Fiddlesticks
I don't believe it! Ok. So I'm throwing a tantrum here, but the 10 year old in me really wants this game. Like TomVanDamm this is my favorite game EVER. I feel guilty that I voted for $10, but you didn't tell us all the stuff that was in this game when you put up the vote! I'll be buying it for the PS3 and PC anyway.Todo List
