Thanks dude, I appreciate it. ^_^

BTW- you should totally continue updating your icon there like you did for Christmas. Maybe for Easter you could like put a crown of thorns around his head or something. (Sorry if that's a bit blasphemous m(_ _)m )

You're right! I probably should. Just need to have an idea of what to do and how to do it. Nice suggestion, but it might be like you say, a bit blasphemous (I probably shouldn't talk, though. I once made a 3x1m tall banner, that got put up in a school cantina, which was teared down on day 1. It featured a crucified Santa to put everyone into that nice and lovely Holiday spirit!)

It was actually pretty hard to make that Santa hat (and I wasn't very proud of the end result. Glad people noticed and found it to be a nice touch, though )

Really? You weren't proud of the result? I thought it was totally awesome myself.

Ahh, but I didn't think about how much a pain in the ass it might have been. I reckon you just used photoshop and copied pixels into place till you got something resembling a santa hat?

....I can see that being tedious and aggravating. Ah well.

Ahah. Thanks.

Well, basically, the first one was a result of dancrane212's Santa Hat topic here on the forums.
I spent a good few impatient minutes trying to put together something that I felt didn't look/feel "too bad". (By the way, I used MSpaint... 'cause I'm lazy!)

Anyway, I'll try to come up with some new ones, though. Not like I've abandoned the idea of toying around with it just 'cause I wasn't too proud of my end result with the previous ones. Practicing is required for mastering!

I enjoyed the Gaming English section. Perhaps us Gaijin could get a Gaming Japanese section (hosted by Mr. James Gapanese, perhaps)... The mores and tics of Japanese gamers are probably as strange to us as we are to them!

Guys, thank you all for your kind comments.

Ya, I was thinking it'd be fun to do that with the Gaming Japanese, but the forum seems to commit ritual suicide on my posts any time I leave Japanese characters in there, so I guess it would just have to be the phonetic sounds doing the explanations....

Default Feb 27, 2009: Allright - TO AMERICA!

Feb 27, 2009
Title: Allright - TO AMERICA!

Since I'm on a business trip to America this week i can't really dish out any Bionic Commando News!

What? Did you say overseas business trip?
That's right! BenBen is in his home country of America!
Specifically, I'm in San Francisco.
It's all good! This week I'll totally have a crapload of pizza and Mexican food and I'll be all powered up to write a blog next week!

And so with that, please come on back next week!

Thanks,

Ben

Default March 6, 2009: Rather than a Focus Test, call it a Fan Test

March 6, 2009
Title: Rather than a Focus Test, call it a Fan Test

Whaddap! This is your friendly neighborhood BenBen!

Actually, BenBen is still in America. When I go back to America I always make sure to eat pancakes, pizza and drink shakes. The other day I was really surprised when I went to an ice cream store. You guys all know about regular ice cream cones, right? I wonder if any of you have seen other cones, like the ones dipped in choclate? Well, at the ice cream shop I went to there were ice cream cones with Butterfinger (a popular candy in America) and coconut! AWESOME!

What a WONDERFUL concept!
You're not only happy to eat the ice cream, but the cone as well!

Whoops - Here I had promised that I'd talk about games this week and I go right into talking about ice cream. (orz)

Lately we've been having the fans over by the Capcom offices in America come by and give us feedback on Bionic Commando in order to fine tune the game content. I talked about this a bit in the December 19th blog post, well it turns out we haven't done this 'focus test' only once, but several times.

By focus testing several times we can build upon what we have and get feedback on very specific places. We've had the same people focus testing 2 or 3 times, so I guess more than a focus test, its more like a 'fan test'. This kind of feedback based game improvement is becoming more common lately, but when I was a kid I never dreamed that I'd be able to give my opinion on a game that was currently in development!

Furthermore, I think that due to advances in computer connection speeds and the fact that being able to upload your own videos online is something you see more and more we will see gamer's involvement in the development process increase more and more.

From here on out though the games will be said to be made by dev companies, it wouldn't be surprising if it starts feeling like the fans are starting to make the games! I think that is incredible.
