It didn’t look like it was going to happen, but we have managed to engineer a near-simultaneous worldwide release for Rearmed!
Although We did had some last-minute problems getting Rearmed out on PSN in Europe, thanks to our friends at SCEE, it went up last night on the European PlayStation Network Store, a delay of a mere day. European PS3 fans (and Australians, New Zealanders and all those other territories Europe includes) - get swinging right now for the low, low price of E9.99!
And we’re delighted to announce that Bionic Commando Rearmed is now available on PC from the following services!
Capcom Store
Direct2Drive
Gamers Gate
Digital River
And we’ll be announcing some more over the next few days.
Speaking
of which, many fans looking forward to Rearmed have been asking when it
will be available on Steam. Unfortunately, as we will not be offering
Rearmed on Steam, as we were unable to come to mutually agreeable terms
with Steam at the last minute. For more info, you can see this post from Capcom’s VP of Strategic Planning and Business Development, Christian Svensson.
We
hope that this last-minute change doesn’t disrupt things for too many
fans and that you can choose one of the many fine digital distribution
partners where we will be offering Rearmed instead.
UPDATE: BCR should now be available in Norway, and will be out on the 21st for German users - sorry to leave you guys hanging! (Hanging? Geddit? Cause.. you know... the, um, swing...)

Thanks!
Finally, only a 1 day delay. Thank you very much! New record! :)But I think sadly the PS3 European users who still doesn't already buyed the US version won't notice this release until next thursday, when the store is tipically updated so I think there will be only a few sales in PSN. So I think it will hurt first week sales numbers.
BTW this thursday is going to be released Ratchet & Clank Quest for Booty in the PSN, so I think it will be harder to sell a lot of BCR in the first week.
Woo Hoo!
Thank you so much for being able to get this pushed through, woke up that morning staring at a BCRless UK PSN. Then some random news site posted at like 7 that it was up and I freaked out a bit. All the best to everybody at Capcom and Grin! I hope this has been a huge success you deserve it =)Not out in Norway
Sorry to burst your bubble, but BCR is not out in all of Europe. The game is not out in Norway or Germany (afaik), so either someone voted Norway and Germany out of Europe or someone at Capcom, Grim og SCEE dropped the ball on this one.Being a PS3-owner I have gotten used to getting the short end of the stick living in Europe and all, but now certain countries gets singled out? To qoute David Reeves:
"When the US launch, we could launch in Australia and we could launch in New Zealand and the UK, but if we did that then our colleagues in Italy and France and Germany and Spain would not be very happy, so we've chosen to stick to the strategy of doing it pan-European and pan-Australia and New Zealand,"
So what happened, guyes? I take it this wasn't planned? Did some of your summer-interns steal the code for the Norwegian-version and pawned it at some basaar in Chairo? Must be it.
I really wanted this game, as I had the weekend off and were looking for some retro-action, but no...
Not Out in Norway 2
I would just like to repeat; This game is not out on the Norwegian PSN. Now why is that? A simple slip-up from SCEE seems most likely, as there are no rules or regulations in Norway for either translations or censorship. But the fact that the game is still not up is really bothersome. As a person who's lived in Europe for my entire life, I'm quite used to being marginalized, but it's very tiring. Especially with digital downloads, when there is no real reason for me as a Norwegian, who get to play games in english anyway, to be pushed back alongside the german/french/etc because they require translations.
The fact that these different countries are split into brackets on PSN (probably to "balance" the cost of items) coupled with stuff like this, where the horrid Reeves says they want a continental launch when we end up with shit like this. The truly fucked up thing is that it has yet to be corrected.
I'm buying the PSN version, but I'm forced to buy the Japanese one now.
Finally
Finally it's out in Norway to. I almost shit my pants when I saw that it was out on the Norwegian PSN. Great game !
