As always, I try to spend a few minutes looking over the comments that everyone is taking the time to post. I really like the community that we have going here. From one-time posters who occasionally peak out to share their excitement for the final product to regulars like the 2 Dans and Hyakitaki.
It's really a great exchange and helps us know what you want and let's us tell you what we can do.
A couple of things that are worth noting:
1) When you asked for a CD cover for the BCR soundtrack we created not only that, but some fantastic liner notes as well.
2) People wanted to hear the original tunes and we tracked those down as well. Again, we offered a nice CD cover with some cleverly designed liner notes (featuring yours truly).
3) The fans wanted the game on Steam and other digital distributors and we are making that a reality.
4) You asked for BCR to be 10 bucks and we listened.
So
what is my point? Basically, it's that we are trying to give you what
you are asking for. Of course, in the immortal words of one of my
Producer friends here: "Fans are greedy. They want everything when they
want it and they want it for free".
While we can't give it to
you for free, we certainly aren't going above and beyond the call in
order to milk you for everything you've got. We want to make enough
profit so that the BC series is here to stay yet also make sure that
everyone feels that they are getting the most bang
for their buck.
Ok,
ok, enough of my Producer talk. I'm just happy that we are getting so
much BC love. Which brings me to my next point: the release date.
I
know you all wanted to play this baby last month. And trust me, we are
working as quickly as possible to get the job done. Again, launching a
title like this on 3 SKUs worldwide sounds much easier on paper. So
please try to bear with us on this final road to the finish line.
One
other event that we are getting behind is a special presentation that
our German Localizer Florian Seidel is giving at Marburg University in
Germany. For obvious reasons, Localizing the German version of BCR was
both a great headache and a great experience. Florian will be
talking about the detailed procedure he used to give "Master D" all of the proper impact he needed for the German market.
We'll
be putting up some more information on his presentation after he comes
back but for now this event remains open to the German audience only.

Awwww....
That picture is just too cute (and that's one AWESOME coffee mug :D )Really tho, I still think BCR should be 15 or rather 20 dollars.
Looking forward to those notes, should be interesting ;)
...what else... Oh, right, aside from purchasing both games on Steam for the PC (like I plan on doing, thank you oh-so-very-much for providing), how exactly do you plan to use the BCR->BC3 unlocks? Especially if someone would buy them from different sources?
Codes? Save files?
...Cake?
ps. any chance for that edit feature for comments?
Right back at ya!
I love you guys too! Your fanservice is awesome, however i still think 10 bucks was a stupid move... but i'm ok, im just going to gift it to a few friends over steam (asskissing, but true)Can't wait...
Looking forward to getting this one downloaded. I think $15 would have been the better way to go- the amount of time/ work you and the crew put in deserves to be compensated. If it was just the single player alone I could see $10 but with the multiplayer and challenge rooms added in it's a steal.aaaww!
We love you to! And Ben is drinking pure love, at least according to that photo.*massage myself*
*yeah Im from Europe, we like our massages*
edit
And of course I mean Love as in the whole team that is bringing us our beloved BC franchise back to life;)
@lucas_rl
I hear ya. I like the massages too! Especially with honey! Er... um... back to drinking love I guess.@hyperslug -- Thanks for the sentiment. I really don't know if we will break even or not but it sure would be great to have the biggest opening weekend over any digital title ever... but we will certainly need all the help we can get.
I do think one of the best parts about BCR is that if you do "gift" it to your friends then you are gonna have a great time trying to see who can get the best score on the Challenge rooms. That mode is great and for pure bragging rights!
Ben
Thanks
Howdy;I really appreciate the great fan support that your team has given us. I always wanted a sequel to the original NES game.
The music -- both the revamped Rearmed and 8-bit versions -- work great over here in Iraq.
I showed some videos I've shot over here to some other soldiers, but I forgot the Rearmed music was playing in the background on iTunes. They started bopping their heads and tapping their boots on the floor to accidental background music while watching the videos.
I also really enjoy the comics. The background stories on the web site fill in a lot of open holes, but leave enough space for us to imagine stuff for ourselves.
Please make sure that AAFES is prepared for launch of the big-daddy sequel. It may be problematic for us troops to get it here in Iraq. I've seen lines at the PXs over here that wrap around the building to get some high visibility stuff.
Thanks for such a great product that is keeping me entertained on my second trip over here.
Very respectfully,
Creighton
1st Cavalry Division in southern Iraq
goodmorning iraq
Hey CreightonCool that you guys have an internet café over there. I figured warzones, even modern ones to be completely dislocate and isolated.. which of course is a bit naïve... hmm we need some movies on the Iraqi war soon...
By the way please take care of yourselves and please don't kill anyone... that would be kind of mean.
YOU CARE?!
If you truly cared, you'd add PS3 FW 2.40 Trophy support ;) come on, you know you want to! :DAchievements?
...speaking of achievements, got some sweet Steam stuff for us PC players? :DIf you love me...
...you'll make BC for the Wii, start a competition to win a CAPCOM mug and make the game the same price as the podcast.Am I greedy?
What is love?
@Jaz the Spaz --> Well, we'll see if we can't get one of those wishes fulfilled...@Creighton --> Wow! All the way from Iraq. My dad was in the Navy (No Village People pun intended... gawd, I'm old) so it's nice to see some military people visiting the site. I know there can be a lot of down time while you are away but hopefully we can ease some of those slow times with BC.
I would imagine that you will be able to at least purchase the Steam PC version abroad so long as you have a valid credit card. We are launching this puppy everywhere we can.
Ben
I feel your hardship Ben
I'm working LT for EA in Madrid, and I see how localization issues can cause delays every day.At least you keep us up to date, and then there are all these nuggets of goodness that appear all the time, they make the wait go faster and keep me from losing faith in this game.
Wow
It just got me thinking how dedicated Ben really IS to us fans. As you can see here, he plainly takes out his time to visit every regional section of the site, but also replies t almost every comment. Now das LURV.Unlockable achievments and trophies for the player
On my wishlist: unlockable trophies for the PS3 and achievements on Steam for both BC:Rearmed and BC, please?@Jaz the Spaz
I offer you a counterproposal - make the podcast the same price as the game!Sounds good but...
How about you pay US to play the game!
